Dear Michelle Obama –
It must be tough being the First Lady! I can’t imagine what you went through while getting Obama ready to be elected. I mean, elections are already super stressful, but then you get some stupid random drama thrown in making it even more difficult (like those e-mails Hillary sent). Here in Vancouver, I witnessed some real jerks doing some really shady things – some of them were the ones that were supposed to be closest to us. We should be fighting for the same thing people! It sucks when you see someone’s real side and it’s a dark gaping hole of negativity. Sigh.
There are some awesome bright sides to having a partner in politics though, right? I met some of the most amazing people that I’ve ever met. Vancouver has some real gems, who knew? I watched a team of people come together to help Mike out by making phone calls, knocking on doors, waving signs, donating money, and showing amazing support. We were lucky to have so many people come together to help with his cause. Wanna know what was crazy surreal for me? Driving around seeing signs posted throughout the county, reading some pretty cool news articles in The Columbian, and hearing people talking about the guy that I’m dating. It felt pretty awesome! I’m so proud of him!
I watched my new best friend speak in front of thousands of people explaining that he wants to make our county the best county in the nation. He’s not running for fame or fortune like the other guys. He simply knows that the citizens of Clark County deserve better. He’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen. I’m so proud of him because his heart is in the right place. He’s got some amazing ideas and thinks outside the box. We need a lot more selfless people like him in the world.
Anyway, today is the primary election and I’m so nervous! I have no idea how it’ll turn out and, well I’m kind of freaking out a bit. Surely you did the same thing with Obama. Thank God for wine and Xanax, right???
Would you and Barack like to join us at Torque Coffee in Downtown Vancouver to celebrate the election results? I know it’s short notice and you probably already have plans, but it doesn’t hurt to ask, right? The party starts at 7pm, I’ll send you a Facebook invite. It would be lovely to see you both there.
Wish us luck. If you have any friends in Vancouver, WA, remind them to vote today!
p.s. look at that face! Why wouldn’t you vote for this guy??
