Can we talk about the epic New Years Eve party that I helped throw in Salt Lake City last week? I know, I know, Salt Lake doesn’t seem like a very fun place to throw a party. But guess what guys – If you have the right friends, it can be pretty magical. Here’s a little bit of the back story… See that girl in the picture below? That’s me and my best friend Lindsay. She asked me to be her Man of Honor at her wedding on January 2nd (“Man of Honor” is like “Maid of Honor”, but for homos), so I obviously had to put on some kind of pre-party celebration, right?
But, because I live in Portland, and Lindsay lives in SLC, it was kinda tough to plan something the way I envisioned. Lucky for me though, I know a couple of fabulous girls that wanted to help me throw together this unforgettable party. Celeste and Stephanie, pictured below, were instrumental in getting this event to come together.
We gathered groomsmen, bridesmaids, and a handful of close friends to ring in the new year together. We started with a private dining experience at Caffé Molise followed by a Gatsby themed after party at the top of the 222 building on Main Street (Thank you so much Trent!) The first item of business at the after party was surprising Lindsay with a bottle of Pink champagne… ya know, for old times sake.
And nothing goes better with champagne than chocolate covered strawberries from Gourmandise Bakery. #getinmymouth
This was the first time Mike had the opportunity to meet most of my friends and family… He was pretty nervous, but he had no reason to be… Everyone seemed to love him, and why wouldn’t they, look at that pretty face!
Before we get to the pictures where we’re all just a bit intoxicated, I feel like we should take a second to chat about the beautiful bride and groom. Lindsay and Aaron, you two are simply gorgeous, and I love you so much!!! Seriously though, you guys won the gene lottery!
Ok, now for the pics where things get a little bit fuzzy…
Finally, we have the midnight money shot, the sexy photographer of all of these amazing photos (Ted Roxbury – you guys should totally follow him on Instagram), and my favorite photo of all.
Needless to say, this was the best New Years Eve celebration I’ve ever had! Thank you to everyone who helped pull off this night of debauchery. Lindsay and Aaron, I hope you had an amazing week – You are surrounded by so much love. xoxoxo #honoraryflavor
